This past Fourth of July, we spent an INCREDIBLE long holiday weekend GLAMPING it up at Campland on the Bay* in sunny and perfect San Diego, California. This trip had been planned for a REALLY LONG TIME, because as you can imagine, spots on the bay in San Diego for a holiday weekend fill up FAST.
Here are our tips and tricks for planning and having the best time every at Campland on the Bay in San Diego!
- Check out the Campland website, and look at the options for campsites. They have tent and RV options, so the best option for you will depend on how you like to GLAMP!
- When choosing your glampsite location, pay attention to your surroundings!!! Decide which amenities are priorities for your group. Where is your site in relation to:
- Parks/Green areas
- Bathrooms and showers
- Play areas
- Check in with the marina if you need any rentals. They have so many affordable and FUN rentals available to make your glamping trip EXTRA special. Surreys, jet skis, peddle boats, motor boats and more! If your’e planning to be on the bay for a holiday weekend, you may want to reserve in advance.
- Beach Bum? Bring an EZ-up and get up early! Over the holiday weekend, they did not allow people to set up on the beach and “claim” space before 8 am. However, if you lined up just before then, you could run onto the beach and stake our your spot for later with an EZ-up. We were SO CLOSE to the beach that this wasn’t necessary for us, but if you know your crew will want to be parked on the sand all day, this could be worth it for you!
